English Level: Intermediate to advanced

Course Description: This course will be an excellent choice for those students looking to study AP psychology in the coming years.  The course will give an introduction into psychology’s past and present.  Students will also take a more in-depth look at concepts of cognition and language, intelligence, and motivation and emotion.

Course Skills: Group discussion, presentation, writing short responses and critical thinking skills.

Course Objectives:

-Students will gain an insight into the history and controversies behind psychology

-Students will have a good overview of psychological concepts of cognition, intelligence, human needs, motivations, and emotions

-Students will work with their peers to understand related issues

Instructor: Leigh-Ellen Kichline Wang has a BA in History and minor in Social Sciences from Southern Illinois University.  She has been teaching high school Social Sciences at HSEFZ on the international and local side for three years.
