Introduction
This course will consider some of the major wars recent history (mostly 20th and 21st Centuries). The focus will be on the causes of these wars, and the ways in which they changed the countries involved or the world.Syllabus
The students will consider causes of conflict in the world, and then look at specific instances of conflict in the 20th and 21st Centuries. Major conflict which will be covered will include the World Wars, Korean and Vietnam Wars, wars involving Israel, the rise of the Islamic State (ISIS) and a number of smaller conflicts in the modern era.- 分类

- Students will learn the causes of a number of kinds of modern wars, and see specific instances when they have impacted on history and society. They will be encouraged to see the common factors and consider how conflict might arise in the future, and ways that conflict might be avoided. Skills developed will include reading and watching for information, identifying cause and effect, understanding trends and patterns in history, and researching and presenting for History classes.
